Super EZ Profile Tweaker
Greetings to all Iron Spider Link Removal Licensees!
Welcome to the official feedback page for the Super EZ Profile Tweaker web application. If you have any feedback about this web app, I would greatly appreciate it. Much thanks!
This page will also serve as a technical support page.
FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT PLEASE BE ADVISED OF THE FOLLOWING:
Simply saying, "i tried the picture thingy and it didn't work" is not nearly enough information. Please try to be as descriptive as possible and/or post your MySpace URL so I can come take a look at what you've done.
And....
No custom code requests please!
A custom code request goes like this:
"i like ur profile tweaker but i would like to do [SOMETHING EXTRA] to my myspace page. can you help me do this, plz?"
Humble apologies but I simply don't have time to provide a personal and free web design service for each and every individual. There's just not enough time in the day to do this. It makes much more sense to create solutions for multiple users (like the Super EZ Profile Tweaker).
Instead, put your request in the form of a suggestion (and I will post it). Then if enough people make the same suggestion, I will incorporate it into a future release of the Super EZ Profile Tweaker.
Example:
"i like ur profile tweaker but i think it would be cool if it did [SOMETHING EXTRA] as well."
Alright that's it.
Have at it.
:o)

I love your site! It's helped me out with Myspace several times... more so than myspace toolbox or whatever it is! Take care and keep up the good work!
~Kim
Iron Spider's myspace profile tweaker is awesome. It would have cost me a fortune to have the same layout designed by someone else. Thank you! Owner - Ecoinsales.com. Myspace URL - myspace.com/ebillionaire.
Great Layouts!
I installed one fine, then tried a header banner, however it didn't work.? New to this. Help?
Thanks so much.
~Sue
Sue,
I took a look at your source code and somehow you managed —presumably during the copy-and-paste— to get the link removal code garbled up with the header banner code which then deleted one of the closing
</style>tags. I think probably the easiest solution for you is to reinstall everything from scratch, i.e., delete all layout and tweak codes from your About Me box. Then come back here and get your layout code again here. Then copy-and-paste in the Link Removal Code after the layout code but this time before copy and pasting, place your text cursor at the end of the layout code and then press Enter on your keyboard twice to create a couple of empty line breaks. The paste in the Link Removal Code. Then do the same thing again when copy and pasting in the header banner code (press Enter twice at the end of the Link Removal Code to create a couple of line breaks). This way, all the different snippets of code will have a kind of 'separator' between them which makes it far less likely to bungle things up during the copy and paste process.Let me know how this works out. If you're still having problems I'll come and take another look and see what you did.

Hi Rob, I've added a banner to my page using the Super EZ Profile Tweaker and I noticed the picture / banner (sometimes, but not all the time,) loads and drops down and covers over my name and almost all the network box. I keep reloading it and after awhile it comes out of it. I didn't add any height changes or anything via the tweaker, so I don't know what is going on? The banner is 800 X 130 as it should be. Just wondering if you might take a look at it and see if it happens while your there.
http://www.myspace.com/guleesh I've added you as a friend to :) Oh and I'm using - Professional MySpace Layouts 2 - 04
Thanks! .. Mark
Mark,
I loaded your page in both Internet Explorer and Firefox and your banner displays fine on my end. (BTW, good job!) It's possible MySpace had a little hiccup while you were loading your page. Try clearing the cache in your web browser and loading your page again. Also, what web browser are you using and are you on dialup internet access?
Rob
Thanks for the quick reply and checking that out
for me. Much appreciated! I'm on (pppoe) highspeed
and most always use Firefox. Sorry, I should have
mentioned all that. I'll clean out the cache and
all that & try again. Thanks, just trying to get
something up that's a bit different. Best Wishes!
Thanks for the E-Z profile tweaker. Did I miss a feature in here that would put my custom banner at the absolute top of the myspace band profile page, and hide those obnoxious myspace adds? I've seen other profiles that block this, and perhaps I've just missed it on your tweaker interface???
Juliet,
Hiding the ads at the top of MySpace pages is strictly against the MySpace.com Terms of Use agreement (section 8-18). MySpace profiles that have layouts or tweaks installed that hide the ads risk getting their profiles deleted. So, no, you didn't overlook anything with regards to the use of the Header Banner Maker.
Thanks for the profile Tweaker. But I've gotten nowhere! Using AOL. I have enabled Javascript, but still get the red warning that ..
Jeff,
Don't use AOL. That browser is total crap. The Super EZ Profile Tweaker and all my MySpace layouts are fully tested in Internet Explorer 6 & 7, Firefox 2 and Opera 9. Any of those browsers will work fine.
Hi Rob. Finally got a chance to mess around with my profile with the Super EZ Profile Tweaker and I love it! I have used most of those tweaks before, but had to do a lot of extra stuff to add the codes. This was great...and soooo easy...Thank You!! I am having a problem with my header banner as well. I have tried all of your suggestions, but, its not showing up. There is a space where it should be, but no banner. I use IE and I have had a banner on my page before without having any problems...any other suggestions? Not quite done with the page yet, but its looking great so far, and loads so much faster. Thanks!!
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for your feedback. As for your header banner, it looks like you've discovered a conflict with using the header banner along with the extended network banner. This is related to big change in the extended network banner code I had to make because of changes MySpace.com made to the default code at the beginning of last month. I have a fix ready for all this. I'll be updating the Profile Tweaker shortly (before noon today, Eastern Time). Humble apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll post here again when the Profile Tweaker is updated.
TO ALL LINK REMOVAL LICENSEES - UPDATE - 1/6/2008 - 10:22am Eastern:
The Super EZ Profile Tweaker has now been updated to correct the conflict with using a header banner and an extended network banner at the same time. Please return to the Super EZ Profile Tweaker download page (link provided in Profile Tweaker thank you email) and download the latest version of the Profile Tweaker.
Rob,
Excellent layouts.
Are there any plans on extending them to the Blog section of myspace? If not, I would like to suggest this for future releases so as to make the look consistent throughout.
Jose
Jose,
No plans specifically for that, no, sorry (that would tremendously increase my workload, by the way).
Love your layouts...very classy which is just what I was looking for...received your email regarding the tweake page. I cannot get it to downloa on my computer. I use IE7 so I don't know...
Hi Maggie,
I just tested the download link in IE7 and it works fine for me. Exactly what happens when you click on the "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE SUPER EZ PROFILE TWEAKER" download link?
Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Maggie,
Either you typed in the wrong username and password or you simply clicked on the 'Cancel' button when you tried to access the download page. The correct username/password is provided in the email I sent you. Click on the link in the email to go to the download page and then carefully type in the correct username and password when the "Connect to www.ironspider.ca" login dialog pops up. (And make sure you have Caps Lock turned OFF on your keyboard.)
Ok, got it...now, how do I get to my home page? I like it that the stuff on top is gone. Right now I'm searching MySpace Home and getting there that way, but is there another way? BTW, thank you for this site. My profile is beautiful, and I'm getting compliments on it all the time...
Maggie,
Just click on your 'Pics' link and then you can get to your home page from there.
How do I add a blog to my page...I have multiple sclerosis and I update everyone on my treatment options..
Maggie,
Humble apologies but that's typically beyond the scope of technical support that I can provide for users of my resources. You should refer to the MySpace help files for that.
Wow this Super EZ Profile Tweaker is just brilliant, this little number has helped me "Decrapify" my MySpace profile in just seconds. Not to mention saving me a whole lot of time trying to search for and decipher dodgey CSS/HTML from other coders. Which of course just leaves me to do what i like to do best, concentrating on making graphics!
THANK YOU :)
I am having trouble with my banner on my music profile. I think it may have something to do with photobucket, but i'm uncertain.
Bobby,
What's your MySpace URL?
Super EZ Profile Tweaker is great stuff - the best 12 buck I ever spent.
Little problem with the Band Profile Tweaker, I got the code for resizing and styling the Music Navigation bar. Looks great except the Upcoming Shows is now transparent.
Thanks!
http://myspace.com/largeflowerheads
Colleen,
Woops. That issue has never come up before.
Here's a quick copy-and-paste code fix.
Copy and paste that code into the bottom of your 'Band Bio' box. This code fix is specific for the layout you have currently installed. If you change the table colors, you'll have to also swap out the color code in the code fix.
And speaking of colors, I don't recommend inserting hexadecimal colors (like "FFFF66") into the Advanced MySpace editor. Color codes like these need to be preceded by a number sign (#) in order to work properly and MySpace filters out all number signs from all layout codes (for security reasons). Hence, the use of hexadecimal codes can be precarious on MySpace pages. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't.
And finally, after looking at your installed layout code, I see that you have 3 instances of layout codes installed. This is a bad practice. You should really delete any previously installed layout codes before installing a new one. If you just keep adding one layout code on top of another, you may run into problems.
~ Rob
Thanks for the code fix and great customer service, Rob! I truly appreciate and will heed your advice regarding the other items too.
Thanks again! So glad I found you.
Colleen
Hello, This is Gilbert and I just purchased this service and it is not allowing me to install it. I am using Internet Explorer and sometimes Mozilla Firefox. When I click on the (Iron spider Profile Tweaker_v06 J script script file) It tells me "Navigator Is undefined" and that it is a (Microsoft J Script runtime error.
Help please!!
Gilbert,
You're trying to open the wrong file. That's a Javascript file you're clicking on. To run the Super EZ Profile Tweaker application, and click (or double-click, depending on your Windows settings) on this file:
ironspider_profile_tweaker_v06.htm
The application doesn't need to be installed. You have only to unzip the package and then go to the folder you unzipped everything to and click (double-click) on ironspider_profile_tweaker_v06.htm to run the application.
It might help in your situation to carefully review the instructions on the Profile Tweaker download page.
Rob, I just looked for the ironspider_profile_tweaker_v06.htm and I do not have it. For some wierd reason my folder didn't come with it....
Gilbert,
Go up one folder from that folder you're in. You are in the ispfv1_include folder. Go out of that folder (up one). In the parent folder you should see two files:
ironspider_profile_tweaker_v06.htm
README.htm
Click or double-click on ironspider_profile_tweaker_v06.htm to start the application.
If you're still having problems, delete everything and then return to the download page and download the self-extracting .exe file again and unzip it from scratch. Please follow the instructions carefully on the download page to unzip and start the application to avoid misplacing any files.
I love the EZ tweaker. However I am having a problem with the header banner, which just won't work for me. I copied the URL of a 130 x 800 pixel banner I uploaded to Photobucket. This is for a band page, so in the EZ tweaker Banner Maker, I checked item 2, then pasted the banner's URL into he appropriate window there. Then I clicked your banner code generator button and copied the resulting text, which I pasted in at the end of my Band Bio (I assume this is correct, since all your other style mods go there and are working.) Yet when I go view my Myspace page, it still displays the ad banner that Myspace sends it. My Myspace page is at http://www.myspace.com/jimcarrcountry.
Jim,
You misunderstood what the Header Banner Maker is supposed to accomplish. It's not supposed to replace the MySpace banner ad at the top of your page but rather put your own header banner directly above your profile. (In fact, it's against the MySpace Terms of Use Agreement to hide or replace the banner ad.) Check my MySpace page for an example of the use of the header banner-
http://www.myspace.com/ironspider_ca
Also, when inserting the URL for your banner image into the Header Banner Maker, make sure you use the correct URL otherwise your banner may not show up. When using Photobucket, the correct URL to use is called "direct link to image".
And yes, the generated banner code goes in the bottom of your Band Bio box.
Thanks so much for offering this! I am not a 'coder' and this has been really helpful with the development of the band's MySpace page.
This profile tweaker is amazing! I use my page for business so i needed a professional clean layout. I am currently working on my page and it is so easy to do. This is saving me a lot of money compared to the cost a designer would charge. Simply wonderful!
I am very pleased with your EZ Profiler Tweaker! What a great product!!!
I am for ever in you debt...
Sincerely,
Cathie
Hi Rob,
Love the Profiler Tweaker, It's great. I manage two myspace band profiles and two websites. Just recently I found that someone stole one of the Bands banner logo, info and pictures and are using it in Bebo and are stating that they are the band. I realised that the images can be copied easily from myspace. I tried the no right click and that didn't work (no javascripting allowed. ..oops!).
So.... I thought this might be something to add to your tweeker at some stage. So Bands, Businesses and people can't have there images pinched and used without permission or worse still, inpersonate someone.

Colleen,
Thanks for you feedback. Sorry to hear about what happened with one of your client's logos and stuff getting ripped off. If I were you, I'd definitely report them to Bebo. You could also look into issuing a DMCA take down notice.
As for protecting against image theft, it's very difficult to do even when Javascript is enabled. Even if you use Javascript to disable right click and/or the print screen key, there are ways around that. So when Javascript is disabled -or rather not available to MySpace users- then protecting against image theft is impossible.
(edit)
I should say preventing image theft is impossible. Protecting against it is. Like I said, report the theft to Bebo and/or send them a DMCA take down notice.
Hey Rob - I have to say I am quite impressed with the page editor and page overall... I have one small issue is the alignment of the friends comments box - I cant figure how to place it directly under the friends list over to the right. Could you let me know if and how to do this? The page is at http://www.MySpace.com/KevinNicksMusic
Thanks Again!
Kevin,
You have a band profile. On all MySpace band profiles (a.k.a., 'Music' profiles), the Friends Comments box is centered in the page by default. It does not appear in the right column as with 'regular' MySpace profiles. And, in fact, this is and will be greatly to your advantage if (and when) people start posting large images to your comments section which normally would throw off the alignment and spread everything out of proportion.
Rob - Thanks for the insight. Its been most helpful.
I love your product ... think I have gotten overzealous with the banners and now am having difficulty finding them to remove them... I'd love to end up with this one being the actual one on the page. Any help at all would be IMMENSELY appreciated.

I'm at http://www.myspace.com/lfa105
Donna,
Empty out the 'About Me' box in your 'Profile Edit' screen and start over. Don't use the same layout code you used before. That one is old. Get an updated layout code here fresh from my site. Next, please follow the instructions in the Super EZ Profile Tweaker carefully. When installing a header banner or an Extended Network banner (like the one you said you wanted) make sure you always copy-and-paste the banner code AFTER (i.e., BELOW) the layout code. Also, always put a couple or three line breaks between the layout code and the banner code (and between all tweak codes you add) so that you can easily find it again. Then if you don't like the way a banner looks on your page, don't just add another banner code on top but rather DELETE the first banner code and then add another. Do all that and you should be fine.
Hi,
i am trying to put in a background with the Extended Network Styler, i generate the code but it comes up in the wrong areas. I have a band profile and put the code in the bio section. Now it shows on the myspace page but in the "about transition" area...
The banner works fine for some reason..
Can you help me with this pleaze?
Thx
Antoon
Antoon,
The Extended Network Styler is only meant for 'regular' MySpace profiles. Band profiles don't have an Extended Network box so you can't use this tweak code on a band profile. On the other hand, the header banner can be used on both regular and band profiles.
Hi, Rob: Don't know why but I'm unable to make a friend request on MySpace. As you know I'm new to it and could be missing something. What should I do?
P.S. Also, how do I accept friends?
Thanks
Charlee,
Making and accepting friend requests is beyond the scope of technical support that I provide for users of my layouts and resources (and actually has nothing to do with my layouts or resources). You should refer to the MySpace help documentation for a complete rundown on this.
Hi,
I installed one of your custom Myspace templates and I love it.
I downloaded and unzipped the tweaker software, but I get a message saying, If you see this, your javascript is disabled, please enable it.
So I've enabled it--in fact it was already enabled when I went to Tools - Security in IE and checked. Is there anything else that might be preventing me from using your program?
Thx! - K.
K.
What version of Windows (XP or Vista?) do you have and what version of Internet Explorer (6 or 7?)...?
Also, do you have another web browser installed such as Firefox? If so, try opening the Profile Tweaker in the alternate web browser.
Rob, Iron Spider Rocks.. You are a gem of a geek. Loyal, patient. The beauty part is your layouts are so accessible and clean...not all the silly glitter fairies and obscene clutter...you lay it all out with detailed and humorous directions...your ez profile tweaker is a God send for this HUMAN...
you give so much, for so little...
and always right on top of things if there is some trouble shooting...
actually your program has been a great teacher for me...
i have learned so much through you and your program...i highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be professional and classy with a twist..
you are the best
Sincerely
Laura
Hi Rob,
Thanks for your response to my earlier question. I'm now able to generate code using your Tweaker, but the banner I created doesn't appear -- just leaves a blank space at the top. I've mucked around in the code on my own, but can't fix this.
If you care to have a look, my Myspace url is: http://www.myspace.com/maxine616
Thanks for any help :-)
Kim
Kim,
You inserted the wrong image URL from Photobucket for the banner code. The one you used is a special BB code that only works on forums. For MySpace pages, always use the Direct link to image URL. Also, it's best not to muck about with code if you're having problems and require technical support. It only complicates matters.
Your profile tweaker was a great investment. Its an incredibly affordable, yet useful tool. I have learnt alot while developing my site, thankyou.
Brilliant site and brilliant program no faults or nothing and definately worth the money , however me being my stupid dum self forgot to realise that none of the features work with my band profile (COMPLETE IDIOT ME) lol
Vonjessen,
The Profile Tweaker and all my layouts are perfectly compatible with band profiles. Many people with band profiles are currently using the Profile Tweaker and my layouts. Do you have your MySpace profile set on the new Profile 2.0 configuration? If so, set it back to Profile 1.0 and everything should be fine.
Thanks so much Rob for the tweeker, in my About me section I gave you credit for the layout design, it may seem silly to do so after removing your logo link but I thought it fit the context better this way I hope you don't mind. I haven't gotten into the header and other stuff yet but here it is so far.

mc
Martin,
No I don't mind at all. Thanks very much! :o)
How can I load HTML Code that is genrated from Photo Bucket to myspace page for Header/ Banner that goes to Band Site. Personal design that is in JPG format.
Thanks
Tony,
Make sure you're using the correct URL from PhotoBucket. The correct URL is 'direct link to image'. What's your MySpace URL? Install the header banner code the best you can and let me come take a look. (I also sent you a response by email to your previous query on my feedback page, by the way.)
Hi Rob.
This application looks like just the ticket for us. The info on your main site suggests that it is a web-based application. Does that mean it will run on a Mac, or is Windows required.
Thanks,
JL
Hi John,
The Profile Tweaker as well as all my layouts are perfectly compatible with Mac and the Safari web browser. And yes, the Profile Tweaker is officially a web-based application.
Just love your profile tweaker!!! It was exactly what I needed to help out our band page. I had been searching everywhere on the internet for something to help me out and finally I came upon you and your proflie tweaker. Thank you so very much.
It would be nice if you could add something to tweak the contacts area (the icons are a little cheesy) and also it would be great if there was a way to put a skin on that pesky music player on band sites.
Thanks again, well worth the money,
Peace,
Lee
Bridges of Light
Hey, I ALWAYS have trouble with the banner. Everything seems hosted fine. But, it doesn\'t show up? It has never seemed to work properly. Check out http://www.myspace.com/danwolffmusic and see.
Dan,
First of all, always insert the banner code BELOW the layout code, not above. That makes a big difference. You currently have the banner code above the layout code. And secondly, make sure you always precede the image URL with http:// so that it reads http://www.example.com/my-banner.jpg. You've omitted the http:// and just started your image code with www. Fix those two things up and get back to me with the results.
Thanks! Your Profile Tweaker and this site in general have been most helpful! This is the second time I have used your layout and tweaker service. I like that you have straight up answers.
Best regards...
